Giant Sequoia Redwood
These trees are believed to have made it through the Ice Age, the fossil records date back over 180 million years to the age of the dinosaurs. The largest one in the park right now, has a base diameter of 30 ft., going up about 50 feet above ground. The diameter is still about half of the base, at 50 feet in the air, this tree has 16 ft. of trunk.
Twisted Giant Sequioa
Despite the few fallings they have, because of large burn scars, or the root system getting messed up, they can topple in a heavy wind. These trees are very indestructible. For example, the thick base protects it from other tree falls. The branches have fallen off on the ground, and just the branches had reached a diameter of 6 ft!
Burned Giant Sequioa
These trees have adapted to forest fires, getting only scars thoughout it's lifetime because of its thick, twisted bark. The branches don't get affected, due to how high the branches are. Although, the tree in the picture had its bark taken off by man, so it’s protective layer got removed, not able withstand the forest fires.
