INSPIRATION

Don't fear the color, instead learn to work with it

Painting with colors truly is a fun and exciting thing to do, but sometimes just imagining it can be a difficult thing to do. Here you can browse through each color to find examples of real rooms painted with those colors, along with a short description of the color to further help with your inspiration.

Reds

Starting off with the boldest and brightest color: red! Red is, without a doubt, the most daunting of the colors because of the fear of it taking over the whole room. Though the thing you can do with red is to use it as an ascent wall instead of the whole room. This way, you can still use it without making it an eye sore.

If red is still just too much for you, but are still wanting something on the brighter side, orange is a great choice. Unlike red, there are more value options for orange. Not only that, but oranges can have a wide range of "moods" from the bright warm tropics to deep dark autumn.

Want a color that can really brighten a mood? Then look no further than yellow! Now for some people, when they think of yellow, they think of the standard bright sunny yellow, and for some that might be just as intimadating as red. While for some it might not be so, but for those that it does, don't worry because one of the great things with yellow is that you can actually use it as an almost neutral color by using it in its more gold tones.

Another great thing with green is that it has such a vast amount of values, but luckily since it is so connected with the natural world that means that it can go well with pretty much any color or decor.

Just as green is associated with nature, if you want a color that will give you a feeling of the sky or water then there's no better opition then blue. It's a perfect choice if you want to give a new and refreshing look your house. Though another wonderful thing with blue, just like with yellow, is that it is also very close to be a neutral. In fact even more so, as there are a lot of blue-gray opitions out there.

This is the classic color of royalty and because of that it can really bring a sense of beauty to your house and a definte pop that will make it stand out. But don't worry, just like with the other colors, it can come in softer and duller tones if you are not looking to be so daring.

If red is too bold for you but maybe still want something in that range, you might want to consider pink. Of course, the first thing that most people will think of when dealing with pink is that it's so associated with femininity that it might turn some people away. But pink really is an excellent opition for those who want a softer red, and it's also good if you want a more peachy or coral looking color.
