Hello World, my name is Hillary!

I have a personal background in web design & development that I never pursued professionally and allowed those skills to fall to memory. With this class (as well as with the rest of the web development program), I would like to refresh those skills, get back up to speed, and become a professional front-end web developer because of how much joy the challenge and creativity allowed me. (I would also be okay with side-questing into design or databases. I'm still flexible.)

Outside of that, I really love history, creative expression, and exploring. I have an AA in Humanities (which I describe as "history with benefits") that I plan to finish as a BA eventually, but in the meantime, I'm having fun learning photography and the skills of a professional photographer (I plan to make use of it), playing about in Photoshop (oh, how I have missed it), occasional jewelry making, and meandering about historical districts and parks.

I am so excited to learn about Web Design!

The top three things I would like to learn in this class are:

  1. Updated coding requirements.
  2. Responsive design!
  3. Modern web design aesthetics.

I'm ready to get started!
